My Story

My experience with home improvement started in the 70’s when I was young. After public schooling weekdays, I woke early on the weekends to accompany my father. Every weekend we would travel to a property that he owned, unoccupied and in need of rapid expert renovation. My father completed all major permitted repairs and passed inspection without professional trade licenses. Exposure to decades of successful major hands on rental property renovations and ground up rebuilds in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel County I garnered a vast and detailed knowledge.

I learned firsthand safe, code compliant construction techniques with hand and power tools.

However I did not recognize the potential in real estate that my father was so keenly aware of.

I went on to earn an associate’s degree in culinary arts and was a practicing professional chef for over 25 years, also occasionally doing side jobs in home improvement

In the year 2000 my family formed Pampered Palate Incorporated for the purpose of purchasing renovating and operating a restaurant. During that time, besides running day to day operations, I became certified as an EPA refrigerant technician. Along with refrigerator repair I also custom welded the stainless steel hot line and personally built out a bar area after securing a liquor license.

The closing of the restaurant and bar led me to purchase, refurbish and operate a mobile catering kitchen as well as take side jobs with licensed home improvement contractors and other restaurateurs.

Over decades I had established relationships with many business owners and after circumstances dictated that the catering business be closed I transitioned to commercial contracting to the foodservice industry under the framework of the existing company. Delivering quality and professionalism to their business my clients naturally requested my services for home repairs.

When COVID forced the closure of all my clients’ restaurant business’s my company suffered and I quickly transitioned from commercial to residential contracting by securing a MHIC license, and starting Arundel Home Works

Now with a broad experience in all trades at the commercial and residential level I bring unique skills and knowledge to the newest incarnation of the passion I possess for all my endeavors.

I have a compliment of hand and power tools, a commercial box truck and experience with cabinetry, stationary woodshop equipment and the design build process.

I look forward to your call and discussing future projects.
